Pastor: Rev. Gregory Scott Tafel
(Rev.) Gregory Scott Tafel was born on August 20, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pa. He graduated from Notheast High School in Philadephia in 1966. From 1967-71, he served his country in the U.S. Navy first aboard the Destroyer Escort U.S.S. Snowden and then as a Radioman at the Naval Communications Station in Athens, Greece. Following that, he attended Philadelphia Community College, majoring in Education. He also operated a family owned business, Penn Valley Industrial Service Inc. for 23 years.
In 1974, Gregory married Mary Givogre. They are the parents of two sons, Justin and Jared. The Tafel family were active members of Hope Lutheran Church in Levittown, Pa. for 11 years.
In 1992, Gregory entered Concordia Theological Seminary in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. He received his Masters of Divinity Degree in 1997 and was ordained in October of that year.
Pastor Tafel was called to Faith in the spring of 1999. He was installed as their pastor in July, 1999. He also served for two years as the Fourth Vice President of the Eastern District and currently serves as the Circuit Counselor of the Susquehanna Ciircuit in Pa.
Mrs. Mary Tafel is a speech and language pathologist in the Bangor Area School District. The Tafel family live in Lafayette Park at 179 Park Ridge Dr., Easton, Pa.
